Short-Wave Probeless Hair Removal

The second limiting factor is the stage of growth the hair is in at the time of the treatment. There are three distinct phases that a hair goes through during its life cycle. The first being the growing or ‘anagen’ phase, the second ‘catagen’ and the final phase is called ‘telogen’. It is only during the anagen phase that probeless epiliation will be effective. Catagen hairs are still firmly attached inside the skin, but are not lengthening.

The shortwave energy creates follicle temperatures of 140 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Human tissue coagulates (cooks) above 139 degrees. The microwave energy also thermally desiccates (dries) the papilla cells, further reducing the chance of any regeneration.

Epitron treatments are virtually painless. It is very uncommon for any sensation to be felt during the process at all. This being considered, Epitron is exceptionally well suited for use on very delicate facial and neck regions where regular electrolysis can be too painful. Other areas which will benefit from this pain-free method are: breast, nipple, bikini line, stomach, and underarm and genitals. Note: Epitron should not be used inside of the nose or ears as shortwave energy may damage the delicate mucus membrane.
